YOLANDA JOHNSON

Yolanda Johnson is a leadership mentor and the founder of Beyond Measure LLC. Yolanda provides leadership development, management, and diversity, equity and inclusion workshops. Yolanda facilitates fun and engaging learning environments and believes in a continued pursuit of personal investment and growth.

In addition to being an entrepreneur, Yolanda is a program director for a nonprofit where she trains corporate legal departments and leads civic and legal education programs that serves vulnerable populations across the country. She is an expert in designing and delivering education programs for underserved youth and adults. Yolanda also heads up a national program to improve relationships between police and young people.

Yolanda has spent over 25 years of her life working with programs that serve young people in New York and Maryland where she spent 12 years in the Department of Juvenile Services. She became Assistant Regional Director in Baltimore City where she managed and led many employees to find their own gifts and become leaders within their own lives. Yolanda has presented at national conferences related to juvenile justice and gender specific programming for girls.

Yolanda holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Pedology (children’s behavior and development) from Bowie State University, a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from Nyack College, a certification in mediation, and had completed several leadership develop institutes including the Nonpfrofit Leadership 9-month boot camp of Montgomery College.

A member of the Society for Diversity and the American Business Women’s Association, Maryland Capital Chapter in Annapolis, MD. Yolanda believes in community investment in any way possible. She serves as President of the board of a nonprofit organization in Montgomery County, Maryland for children with disabilities. Her podcast, “Can You See Me: Women, Leadership, and Race” is featured on 10 online platforms and is designed to promote diversity while elevating and inspiring the voices of everyday women from all different backgrounds and cultures. She was recently featured as an author in the anthology book, “Set Apart and Chosen: God Uses Ordinary Women to Do Extraordinary Things”, to be released in March.

Yolanda’s philosophy says that anyone can lead from wherever they are in life, a title is not important but what you do to positively influence the lives of others is what truly matters.

Yolanda is originally from Long Island, New York with deep southern family roots. She is the “Knee Baby” of seven girls and loves to cook, travel, meet new people from different cultures. Yolanda loves to spend time with friends, family, and travel to visit her two adult children in Austin and Chicago. Her favorite drink is a “Dirty Chai” – chai tea and almond milk with a shot (or two) of espresso!!!
